Consultation opens on future priorities for Cairngorms National Park
People who live, work in or visit the Cairngorms National Park are being asked for feedback on the area’s next Partnership Plan.
A public consultation is now open for the next plan, giving people the chance to play a part in shaping the next five years of priorities for the UK’s largest National Park.

The Partnership Plan guides the work of the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) and its partners.
At its heart is a long-term vision to ensure that the National Park is a place where nature and people can thrive together.
The draft 2027-2032 Partnership Plan is the most ambitious yet and is built around three missions:-
- Nature and climate resilience, including sustainable farming and upland management, native woodland expansion, peatland and river restoration as well as action on key species
- Communities, with a focus on affordable housing, business and enterprise, transport and cultural heritage
- A National Park for all, improving access and visitor management, volunteering and addressing barriers so that everyone can and feels able to enjoy the National Park.
Sandy Bremner, CNPA convener, said: “We want to go further and faster than ever before in helping people and nature overcome the growing challenges they face. That is why this Partnership Plan is the most ambitious in the history of the National Park.
“It sets the direction for everything the Park Authority and our partners will deliver over the next five years, so it is vital that it reflects the views of the people who live, work and visit here.
“Now that the draft is ready, we are delighted to open it up for feedback.
“So, if you want to help the National Park step up our pioneering work for everyone’s benefit, this is your chance to inform what we do through to 2032.”
Grant Moir, chief executive, added that the CNPA is proud to trial new ways of meeting the key challenges of the current time.
He said: “This draft Partnership Plan makes the case for the changes that will have the biggest positive effect on the National Park.
“This affects us all, so we are keen to hear your views as we shape our collective priorities for the next five years.”
The informal consultation runs until Sunday, January 13, 2027.
