Annual winter exhibition now open for entries
Artists across Scotland are being invited to showcase their talent in Angus as entries open for the prestigious Meffan Winter Show.
Hosted by ANGUSalive at the Meffan Museum & Art Gallery in Forfar, the much-anticipated annual exhibition has become a cornerstone on Scotland's visual arts calendar, celebrating the creativity, diversity and excellence of the nation's contemporary art scene.

Applications are now open, with artists able to submit work until Friday, September 25.
For three decades the Meffan Winter Show has provided a platform for artists at every stage of their career to exhibit alongside fellow creatives in a professional gallery setting.
The exhibition continues to attract high-calibre entries from across Scotland, while also contributing to the development of the Angus fine art collection through its annual purchase prize.
Artists selected for inclusion will have the opportunity to present their work to thousands of visitors and may also see their artwork acquired as part of the Angus permanent public collection.
This year's awards include: ANGUSalive Purchase Prize - £1,500; and Visitors' Choice Award - £200. The exhibition is open to all artists living in Scotland and welcomes submissions across a wide range of visual art disciplines.
Meghann Logue, Museums & Galleries Exhibitions Lead at ANGUSalive, said: “The Meffan Winter Show has long been a platform for celebrating the breadth and quality of artistic practice taking place across Scotland. Each year we are inspired by the diversity, skill and creativity of the artists who submit work.
“We encourage both emerging and established artists to take this opportunity to share their work with new audiences.”
Running from Saturday, October 31 until Monday, January 11, 2027, the show will once again transform the gallery into a vibrant showcase of contemporary Scottish art, welcoming visitors from across Angus and beyond.
Submission guidelines and the application form can be found on the ANGUSalive website.
