Stefan's commitment to youth rugby in Angus is recognised

Stefan Elertowicz from Strathmore RFC won the volunteer of the season in youth rugby prize for the Caledonia Midlands region at the 2022 Scottish Rugby Community Recognition Awards.

Elertowicz has spent the year focussing on providing a quality rugby experience for hundreds of boys and girls across the Angus area.

One of his biggest undertakings this season has been supporting the reformation of the Angus Colts, which sees a number of local clubs across Angus come together to provide u18 boys a team set-up.

Working with each club, Elertowicz coordinated training sessions and games, kit, transport, and catering.

He has also led the creation of a specific girls’ section at Strathmore.

Working with local schools, Elertowicz has been rolling out a three-phase campaign of taster sessions designed to recruit and retain girls within the sport.
