Rhys wins first Saloons race as the curtain falls
Rhys Anderson from Laurencekirk won his first ever Saloons race as the curtain came down on the season at Cowdenbeath Racewall.
Anderson’s victory came in heat two on Saturday evening, surviving a late charge from Stevie Honeyman to win.

On what was shaping up to be a good night Anderson was second in his other heat, which put him on pole position for UK Superbowl XXXVII.
Unfortunately he was forced into retirement in the early stages of the race with a mechanical problem to end on a sour note.
Zak Gilmour regained the title he won for the first time in 2024, surviving a last bend lunge from defending champion Gary Paterson in the process.
Jamie Balfour from Forfar picked up plenty of points across the weekend in the ORCi Ministox.
For the first time the category had its own Superbowl race in memory of Kerr Paterson, which was own by Ben McLellan.
Balfour was third in heat one, seventh in heat two, eighth in the Kerr Paterson Memorial Superbowl and 10th in the Allcomers on Saturday.
The next day then saw Balfour finish sixth in the second heat and come runner-up in the Sharpies' Shield Final.
Also in action was Lana Middler from Carnoustie, who was tenth in the second heat despite receiving some heavy knocks.
The BriSCA F2s joined Sunday's action with Dennis Middler from Carnoustie finishing fifth in the Champion of Champions, just ahead of Peter Watt from Kirriemuir.
Middler was also second in heat one, while Watt was seventh in the final and then third in the Grand National.
There was plenty of other silverware give out across the weekend.
Barry Glen won the Gordon Barclay Memorial in the Saloons after fending off a last bend attack from Gary Paterson.
The ORCi Ministox Sharpies' Shield went to newcomer Rory Wilson, while the BriSCA F2s saw Kieran Howie claim both the Champion of Champions and James Clarke Cochrane Memorial.
The next Racewall action is scheduled for Sunday, January 31, at 1pm with Van Bangers, Junior Bangers and Prostock Basics on the bill – keep an eye on social media for announcements.
