Kirriemuir’s Peter Watt was in action with his formula II and despite his only result in the top ten coming during the grand national where he finished eighth, he must have been pleased with his debut. Watt missed heat two and the final due to a mechanical problem.

Barry Russell, Brechin, had a good afternoon racing with his saloon starting off with a seventh place in the opening heat and whilst e he ended up seventh in heat two, he had been spun out of fourth place during the closing stages but still made a quick recovery. In the final Russell was quickly on a charge and brought his car home in third place.
