Medal haul at English Open for sisters

Friockheim sisters Amber and Iona Thomson returned with a clutch of medals from the English Open Championship.

Against some tough competition, Amber won two gold and two silver medals with Iona claiming one gold and one silver.

Their club, Skyaxe, were also the top team at the event.

Mum Vicki said: “I’m extremely proud of them, they have done the hub at Friockheim, Bruce Lodge and everyone proud.

"Skyaxe had six fighters in top 10 out of 800 competitors, Amber in fifth place.”

Iona had to brush off a suspected broken nose picked up in her first fight.
