This was the first time it was held in two years because of Covid-19 and they were fortunate to have a beautiful day, with blue skies and very unseasonal warm temperatures.

There was also very little wind, making for perfect running conditions.

A maximum entry of 300 runners entered the race and it was Robert Harrison of Monifieth Triathlon Club who led the field, finishing well ahead of the rest of the runners, in a time of 1.16.22.

In second place was James Bowden (1.18.55) of Westerlands Cross Country Club.

Bowden just passed Stuart Robertson of Perth Road Runners in the last 50 metres, with Robertson finishing in 1.18.58.

Emma Watt of JSK Running Club was the first woman home in 1.27.15. She was followed by Sarah Attwood of Skye and Lochalsh and in third place was Michelle Bruce (1.32.26) of Monifieth Triathlon Club.

Local prizes were awarded to the top runners with DD8 postcodes and it was a clean sweep for FRR in the men’s category.

In his first half marathon, Callum Boyd had an excellent time of 1.37.22 to take first place in this category.

Second in the DD8 category was Jack Davies (1.45.11) with Graeme Watson third in 1.46.54.

Zoe Logan of FRR took second place in the ladies’ DD8 category in a time of 2.03.50.

Other times of FRR competing were David Wilson 1.29.45, Keith Headridge 1.46.42 and Ann-Marie Black 1.48.3.
