McColgan, who last week recorded a personal best of 14:48 in the 5k road run at the Super Sports Meydan Run in Dubai, broke Paula Radcliffe's 21-year-old British half-marathon record with a stunning run at Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates at the weekend.

The 31-year-old finished sixth in one hour six minutes 26 seconds, beating Radcliffe's time of 1:06:47.
