Webster hailed again at Montrose end of season awards

Having lifted three trophies both last year and the year before, Webster completed the treble, treble by landing goal of the season, top goalscorer and directors player of the year.

Not to be outdone, Blair Lyons matched Webster’s feat on the evening, being named loanee of the year, supporters club juniors player of the year and also receiving the Stan Thornton trophy after members of the Willie Johnstone Lounge voted the winger their favourite player.

Young Aidan Quinn’s rapid development this term was recognised by winning both the young player of the year and the supporters club player of the year awards.

The final, and most prestigious award went to Terry Masson, being voted by fellow teammates as their player of the year.

Sponsored and organised as always by the MFC supporters club, the annual awards were presented by Rick Wood, Graeme Cowie, Andy Davidson, Patrick Bradford, Mark Watson, Rhys Cowie, Barry O’Neill and Supporters Club Chairman Graham Christieson.

Following Cove Rangers’ League One title win at the weekend, Montrose now know they’ll face Airdrieonians in the promotion play-offs.

The first leg will be played on May 3 at Links Park with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The return game will be played at Airdrie on Saturday, May 7 with the usual 3pm kick-off.
