With both the Spiders and Partick Thistle using the ground this season, the condition of the park is starting to suffer.

It’s cut up and muddy is some quarters, meaning the chances of playing with the ball on the deck are slight.

Whatever Petrie decided to do to combat that clearly worked, Mo returning to Angus with a vital 1-0 win that has created a clear gap between themselves in third and Queen’s Park in fourth, despite the Spiders’ 2-1 win over Peterhead on Tuesday night.

An Aidan Quinn goal was enough to seal the three points.

This weekend Montrose entertain bottom of the league East Fife.

Montrose, in conjunction with Montrose Trust, have arranged for a collection to take place at this Saturday's fixture to support the people of Ukraine. Donations will be split between the British Red Cross and Unicef.
