The victory, at Glebe Park, made it seven victories on the bounce for Andy Kirk’s in-form side.

It was a win which keeps Brechin very much in the Highland League title mix, City now just three points behind leaders Fraserburgh.

The Glebe Park club sit in third place in the division with Buckie Thistle wedged in between, having played a game more.

A Max Kucheriavyi double against Deveronvale was added to by strikes from Murray Mackintosh and Jack Milne.

City’s title charge resumed on Monday, December 27 when the club makes the journey to meet Rothes.

Off the park, the club had to cancel its scheduled quiz night which was due to take place last week.

The decision was made in light of the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
