Three footballers who helped the Gable Endies ladies to the Championship North title in style this year – Aimee Ridgeway, Eilidh Reid and Georgia Carter – are up for the area’s player of the year in the MG ALBA SWF shortlist.

Team boss Craig Feroz is nominated in the Championship North coach of the year category, while the team itself, which was unbeaten in its promotion to SWPL 2, is in the running for championship team of the year.

The accolades will be announced at a ceremony on Saturday, June 4 at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel.

It’s the first in-person gathering following a near two-year gap caused by Covid, which saw the prestigious event held online.

Scottish Women’s Football CEO Aileen Campbell said: “With more watching in person and at home than ever before, it has been a breakthrough season for women’s football in Scotland and SWF is excited to announce the shortlists for the MG ALBA awards, which showcases the best the women’s game has to offer.

“There are many success stories throughout our leagues, both off and on the pitch, and I can’t wait to celebrate them at our event.”
