Kyle will bring plenty of experience to Brechin
Brechin City have snapped up goalkeeper Kyle Gourlay on a pre-contract agreement from Kelty Hearts.
The 27-year-old bring plenty of experience to Glebe Park having turned out in the Scottish Premiership for Hamilton Accies after joining from hometown side Dundee.
Gourlay has also donned the gloves from Clyde, Airdrieonians, Elgin City and Cove Rangers, appearing at every level in the SPFL.
He has now agreed a two-deal deal with City and will join up with his new side ahead of the new season.
City boss Andy Kirk told the club’s website: “I’m really pleased to be able to bring Kyle Gourlay to the club.
"Kyle is technically very strong with both his hands and feet and brings with him good experience of playing in the SPFL.
“After meeting with Kyle it was clear he was looking for a new challenge and I am delighted he has chosen to do that with Brechin City.”
Meanwhile, Mitch Taylor has agreed to stay at City next season and midfielder Spencer Moreland has agreed a new two-year deal.
Taylor had a clause in his contract that allowed him to depart if the club didn’t win promotion to League Two, but has decided to remain at Glebe Park.
Moreland has made over 100 appearances in a City shirt since arriving from St Johnstone three years ago.
Kirk said: “We’re delighted that Mitch has committed himself to the club for another season.
"He had the opportunity to move on this summer but he expressed a desire to stay with Brechin City and help our push for promotion.
“Mitch gives everything every time he steps onto the park, works incredibly hard and is someone the supporters have really taken to.
“We’re looking forward to working with him again next season and I’m sure he’ll play a big part for us.
"Spencer was a consistent performer for me when I came back in January and I’m delighted he has agreed to continue his journey with Brechin City.
“Along with his technical qualities, Spencer is versatile and can play a number of positions in midfield and always brings a real enthusiasm and energy to the team.”
Meanwhile, Stuart Morrison, Matty Allan, Blair Alston, and Mackenzie Lemon have all signed up for next term at Forfar Athletic.
