Having played for the Arbroath youth team, Reid is no stranger to Gayfield. He has known chairman Mike Caird and director Jonny Booth for years and the club is excited about his arrival.

Caird said: “Paul is well known to the club and this appointment will see his years of experience and knowledge really help us continue to grow as a club and also help us really integrate more with the town and plan our future.”

Reid is not only a skilled professional in his day-to-day career, but is also known through out the UK for his football and celebrity impressions and has been an after dinner speaker for years, having joined the scene whilst only 16-years-old.

He spoke of his pride at joining the club, saying: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Arbroath Football Club. I came to Gayfield originally as a 16-year-old goalkeeper and instantly fell in love with the club and it has always remained extremely close to my heart. I would like to thank Mike Caird and the board for offering me the opportunity to assist them on the exciting journey they are on, this is an amazing football club with such loyal and passionate supporters, sponsors, management, players and staff.”
