Montrose put on a finishing masterclass

Montrose Football Club’s women’s team showed little mercy in front of goal at the weekend as they welcomed FC Grampian to Links Park.

Conditions were near perfect for a game of football and Mo certainly used them to their advantage.

They struck 12 times without reply to rack up a convincing SWF Championship North victory.

It was a win which saw Montrose keep up the pressure at the top end of the division.

They currently sit in second place, just three points behind league leaders East Fife.

Despite being one spot behind, Montrose are very much the favourites to go on and lift the title, having three games in hand over their kingdom counterparts.

The two were due to face each other this weekend but that has been postponed due to Montrose’s involvement in the Scottish Women’s Cup.

They instead travel to face Livingston on Sunday, January 30.
