Stevie Farrell’s Sons are battling to keep their place in League One and would have considered their point in Angus a good one.

For Mo, they may not have got the three points they wanted, but it’s another positive step towards confirming their place inside the promotion play-off zone at the very least.

Cove Rangers remain top of League One on 51 points wit Mo in third on 43.

Airdrie, who Montrose travel to meet on Saturday, sit in between with 44 points to their name.

On Saturday’s game, Petrie reflected: “It was frustrating.

"We were poor in the first-half and our choice of pass wasn’t good with balls running out of the park.

"But we get our goal and then have a great chance after it where we hit the post and then, probably deservedly, they get their equaliser and 1-1 was right at half-time.” Saturday’s trip to Airdrie is the League One game of the day, and Petrie wants his side to be at their best.

"Airdrie are going well, I went to watch them a couple of weeks ago and thought they were excellent, albeit they drew with Clyde, but I thought they were excellent for 75 minutes,” he said.

"They have some good players.”

Montrose have announced that they intend to hold a meet the manager night for fans with the manager.

The event will be held on Friday, February 18.
