Forfar’s scheduled opponents this Saturday, Stirling Albion, are in Scottish Cup fourth round action, playing Rangers at Ibrox on Friday night.

The Station Park club say the fixture will be re-arranged for a Tuesday evening in February with the exact date for the trip to Forthbank expected to be confirmed by the SPFL before the end of this week.

Forfar will make their return to league action on Saturday, January 29 when Edinburgh City head to Angus.

Gary Irvine’s side ended the weekend in second place in League Two and know they’ll go into next week’s game still there.

Annan, the only team who could leapfrog them, are also in Scottish Cup action.

The two are some way clear of fourth placed Edinburgh City.

On Saturday Annan and Forfar played out a 2-2 draw.

Boss Irvine told forfarathletic.co.uk: “We’ve come away with a point against a team that is playing with real confidence at the minute.

“They are in good form.

"Our performance was really good too.

"And we’ve held on to second place in the league.

"Psychologically, that is good. It’s a normal reaction to come off and look at results elsewhere.

"And it was disappointing to see the teams around us dropping points on a day when we did too. But this is a tough place to come, especially when the opposition are on an unbeaten run.”
