Carnoustie Panmure remain in touch with Midlands League leaders Dundee East Craigie thanks to a thumping 5-0 win away at Downfield.

Goals from Connor Coupe, Robert Smith, a Jamie Winter double and an own goal made life comfortable for Phil McGuire’s side.

Panmure sit six points behind East Craigie but do have a game in hand.

This weekend Carnoustie host Lochee United.

Fellow Angus sides Brechin Vics thumped Coupar Angus 7-0, Forfar West End were beaten 1-0 by Lochee Harp and Kirriemuir Thistle played out an entertaining match against Blairgowrie, eventually seeing them off 3-2.

Forfar United slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Lochee United.

Dundee East Craigie had no problems against Dundee Violet, winning 5-1. Tayport beat Scone Thistle 6-1, Broughty Athletic were beaten 3-1 by Dundee North End and Letham were 3-0 winners over Dundee St James.

Forfar United were due to travel to Tayport on Wednesday as we were going to press.
