Their scheduled fixture against Lochee Harp last weekend was postponed due to Covid-19 issues and they’ll take a further league break this weekend when Rob Roy come calling in the cup.

Panmure’s Mark Johnson says it’s an afternoon the club, and community, can enjoy.

“A lot of people, mostly those not involved in the competition, question the validity of the Scottish Junior Cup but be rest assured we are delighted to be involved in the last 32 this weekend and any game against a side from the west at home is to be relished,” he said.

“We would put the call out to the people of Carnoustie to come along on Saturday afternoon and get behind the boys as we look to make it through to the last 16 of a competition that we love being part of, and progressing in it even more.

“It will be tough, its been a difficult few days for us as a club with the Covid-19 issues of last weekend, but we have hopefully got through it and put the tin hat on it by acting quickly.

"Unfortunately, it means we are likely to be missing one of our starting eleven because of it but we have a decent size squad where everybody plays their part and we will be ready to go.”

Saturday’s visitors sit 13th in a league which includes some quality sides such as Auchinleck Talbot, Pollock and Clydebank.

Panmure manager Phil McGuire is hoping home advantage can count in his side’s favour come the weekend.

He added: “We know Rob Roy will be well organised and carry a threat throughout their team, we will have to be brave in and out of possession and compete all over the pitch, knowing that margins can play a big part in the game. We must make things difficult and look to play keeping things tight at the back and our general play looking to create for our front three to give us opportunities on the day and with a bit of luck we can get a positive result.” Kick-off is 2.30pm.
