Brechin City kept pace with Highland League leaders Fraserburgh thanks to a 1-0 win at Clachnacuddin.

Clach may be sitting mid-table, but proved stuffy hosts, Andy Kirk’s side doing well to break them down, take the lead and then defend stoutly.

It was a match City dominated and returned to the Glebe well worth the three points they won.

Michael Paton passed up an early chance for City as Kirk’s men went on the offensive from the first whistle.

David Cox and Garry Wood had half chances but neither could break the deadlock.

It was one way traffic and City eventually got the goal they deserved when Marc Scott netted.

This weekend City travel to Formartine United in the Highland League Cup.
