Brechin City breathing down leaders' necks

Andy Kirk’s men are refusing to give up on the title without a fight and, at the time of writing, are now just one point behind second placed Buckie Thistle and leaders Fraserburgh.
Those two do have a couple of games in hand over City but Brechin are showing they’ll be ready pounce if either slips up.

Julian Wade hit a hat-trick and Marc Scott a double as Brechin dominated.
Speaking to brechincity.com, manager Andy Kirk was understandably delighted with the win.
He said: “We got into some great positions in the first-half and were just a bit wasteful in front of goal.
"We could have been a lot more goals up at half-time.

It’s been a hectic spell for City who have been playing midweek as well as a Saturday over the past couple of weeks.
Kirk praised his players for how they have adapted to the schedule, saying: “There’s been heavy pitches, long travelling and midweek games and that takes its toll, sometimes physically and sometimes mentally.
"I thought we were a bit sloppy in our general play at times (against Nairn County) but we can’t grumble.
"We were a threat when we put the ball in behind and chased down.”
On Saturday City travel to Strathspey Thistle.
