Teenager critically injured in e-scooter crash in Monifieth

Road policing officers are appealing for information after a teenager was critically injured in a crash involving an e-scooter in Monifieth at the weekend.

The incident happened at around 2.30pm on on Sunday (June 9), on Reform Street at its junction with Brook Street. The 15-year-old rider was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment where he remains in a critical, but stable condition. Another 15-year-old, who was being carried as a passenger sustained minor injuries.

Sergeant Brian McEwen said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances. The road was closed for a short time to allow officers to carry out enquiries. I would urge anyone who may have seen the e-scooter involved prior to the incident, or who has any dash-cam footage to contact us."
