Available to children and young people aged five to 14 years old who need it most, the funding has been allocated to local authorities to either supplement existing holiday programmes or develop new ones.
It sits alongside the £21.75 million in funding going to alternative holiday food provision for families eligible for free school meals.

Hide AdThe Scottish Government is encouraging local authorities to work in close partnership with the third sector, the out-of-school care sector and community and youth groups and Angus Council is working with more than 60 local organisations to offer fun activities, childcare and targeted support.


Mr Dey said: “Regrettably, the UK Government is still not doing nearly enough to address a cost-of-living crisis exacerbated by their damaging policies – and the current situation is hitting families and children hard. The Scottish Government, however, is providing what support it can at the devolved level.”
