Ferry councillors seeking re-election

Ferry ward Scottish Conservative councillors Derek and Philip Scott are to stand for re-election to Dundee City Council in May's local elections.

Derek has represented the Broughty Ferry area since the 1990s. He is the council's Conservative group leader and in 2007 was appointed a bailie in recognition of his long service.

His brother Philip has been a Ferry councillor since 2017. He is the Conservative group's finance spokesman and stood for the Dundee City East constituency at the last Scottish Parliament election.

Derek said: "It is a great honour to represent the Ferry. I always put the interests of local people first and will continue to work hard for everyone across the ward."

Philip added: "I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue to speak up for our area, and to push for Broughty Ferry to get its fair share of council services."

Speaking after their reselection, Maurice Golden, North East Scotla nd MSP, said: "I work alongside Derek and Philip on a regular basis and know they have been outstanding councillors for the Ferry, standing up for residents, local employers and the issues that matter most. They are exactly the sort of local champions we need.”
