At a meeting held on Monday (February 21) to endorse two councillor candidates for the forthcoming local elections in May, the Forfar branch endorsed the nominations of current Forfar and District Councillor Lynne Devine and Forfar and District Community Council chairperson Linda Clark. Branch convener Ron Scrimgeour said that both candidates had been endorsed after a full discussion among members.

He said: "This was no easy walk through to an automatic nomination.

"A full house of branch members asked each candidate searching questions and challenged their local knowledge.

“Each candidate was asked to state their priorities for Forfar and District if they were elected to serve on Angus Council after the May 5 election. Only then were both candidates adopted unanimously."
