Rise in parking fines

From July 1, drivers committing parking offences will see the cost of a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) rise from £60 to £100. That reduces to £50 if paid within 14 days or increases to £150 if it is not paid within 56 days.

It is the first increase in the PCN in 30 years and is in response to new national guidelines issued by the Scottish Government after consultation with the public and local authorities, and agreement with CoSLA.

Angus Council’s Communities Committee agreed to the increase in PCNs at its meeting on 23 May (Report No 153/23).

Further information can be found on the parking enforcement pages on Angus Council’s website.
