A fund to help Angus communities to take ownership of or redevelop land or buildings has opened for applications.

The Angus Place Prosperity Programme is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Scottish Government Place-Based Fund, and Angus Council has aligned the funding to streamline delivery and increase the impact of place-based investment in local communities.

The programme will provide support to projects, from their first concept, through development and on to full delivery, bringing community-based ideas to life.

Councillor Mark McDonald, communities convener, said: “Funding such as this underpins our determination to create vibrant communities, bringing people and places together. As councillors, we hear at first-hand about the aspirations that many people and organisations have for the places where they live and work and I am sure we will see an enthusiastic response to this funding opportunity.”

There are three streams to the Angus Place Prosperity Programme: Angus Feasibility Fund, Angus Place-Based Investment Fund and Angus Green Space fund. Guidance and criteria are available for the individual funding streams on the relevant page of the council’s website.

Dedicated Community Development Officers are available to provide guidance and support via [email protected]. The closing date is 5pm on Monday, July 24.
