The ride covered 85 miles and involved a climb of more than 3500 feet along the Fife Coastal Path, including many sections where the bikes had to be carried up and down steep steps.

Ollie and Ian caught an early train from Dundee to Inverkeithing to start the ride, which they finished at 10.30pm.

Ollie said: “This was really quite an adventure, although a cold headwind made it very hard work.”

Ian added: “Ollie has done really well, both in being selected and in raising funds so far, but we have a long way to go.”

The World Scout Jamboree takes place every four years and offers a fantastic opportunity for young people, who will be away from home for three weeks. The event will take place next August at Saemangeum in a brand new facility which is being purpose-built for the event.

A film of Ollie's adventure can be found on on Ian’s YouTube channel, ‘ianhaywildlife’. Ollie is also looking for companies to sponsor him for future events and challenges. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by emailing [email protected] or contacting Tannadice Scouts.
