MSP Welcomes local impact of Scottish Government Funds
CARES helps people across Scotland to benefit from the energy transition, by advising and funding businesses and communities in local and small-scale renewables.
Since 2010, the SNP Government scheme has provided over £61 million to over 800 projects – with 311 organisations receiving support in 2023, including three in Angus.

Supporting small local projects though financing, grant funding and specialist advice has helped to deliver 58.6 MW of renewable energy across Scotland so far.
Commenting, Mr Dey said: “CARES is an important initiative empowering communities to benefit from the green transition to net zero.
“It is very welcome that local projects here in Angus are among those being supported nationwide by this Scottish Government investment.

“These efforts unfortunately stand in stark contrast with the unambitious and chaotic governance we get from Westminster, on the energy transition as on so many key issues.”
