The purpose of the meeting was to share early progress on the development of a meeting centre in the town and test wider support for the proposal. It was well attended by a range of interested parties including representatives from health agencies and community organisations.

The meeting concluded with a decision to establish a steering group and press ahead with the ambition of having the meeting centre open early in 2022 that will offer support to people living with dementia. Strathmore Cricket Club is taking the lead role in the project. A spokesperson said: “We are keen to see our club and premises make a difference in Forfar. When we became aware that there was a need for a meeting centre, we immediately wanted to get involved.”
