Forfar Asda backs breast cancer fundraiser to help raise over £8000
Asda Forfar’s community champion Shiona Mitchell joined colleagues from across Scotland recently to join with Breast Cancer Now at the Perth Races to raise funds in support of people impacted by breast cancer.
The fundraising team spent the day carrying out bucket collections and selling merchandise to racegoer, such as pens, tote bags, pins and lanyards, helping to generate vital funds for Breast Cancer Now’s work which supports those affected by breast cancer across the UK.

Representing Asda stores across Scotland, seven Community Champions came together as part of the retailer’s long-standing Tickled Pink campaign, which supports the charities Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!
To mark the occasion, the volunteers embraced the spirit of Tickled Pink by dressing head to toe in rosy hues, sporting pink cowboy hats and boots, wigs, tutus and Breast Cancer Now T-shirts.
In total they realised £8,300.
The volunteers included Barbara Inglis from Dunfermline, Jean Ritchie from Kirkcaldy, Anna Jellye from Perth, Annette Newell from Dunbar, Shiona Mitchell from Forfar, Fiona Cumming from Dyce and Diane Garrick from Dundee Milton.
Asda marks 30 years of its Tickled Pink this year, and together with customers, colleagues and communities, has raised more than £100 million to date, supporting the work of Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, helping fund research, care and awareness initiatives across the UK.
Barbara Inglis, Asda Dunfermline said: “It was fantastic to see colleagues and volunteers from across Scotland come together at Perth Races in support of Breast Cancer Now. The energy and enthusiasm on the day were incredible, and raising £8,300 is a brilliant achievement that demonstrates the generosity of racegoers and the dedication of everyone involved.
“We’re hugely grateful to everyone who contributed. Every pound raised goes towards vital support and research to support those affected by breast cancer.”
