The event at Arbroath’s Townhouse Hotel will be an excellent chance for budding participants to meet current foster carers, hear about their experiences and ask questions. Dogs Trust Home from Home Co-ordinators will also be on hand to provide information and share more about the benefits of fostering.

Organised by the charity’s new Dundee team, the session, which will be open between 2pm and 3.30pm, will be the culmination of its Thank Dog It’s Fostering Friday initiative, which highlights fostering success stories and real-life fostering experiences.

It has been inspired by the incredible efforts of the charity’s foster carers to help dogs prepare for the next stages of their rehoming journeys.

Giving up a pet is a tough decision, and the charity offers compassionate support throughout the process.

Dogs Trust Dundee understands that there are many reasons for someone to consider relinquishing a dog and offers solutions to ensure the ultimate decision is the best one.

Dedicated to finding the perfect permanent homes for every dog that comes into their care, the expert team makes sure the handover is as smooth as possible.

Megan Wilkinson, one of the team’s Home from Home co-ordinators, said: “Deciding to part with a pet is never easy. We want to remove as much stress from the process as possible, both for the people and the dogs.

"Dedicated to placing pooches in foster care, owners can have peace of mind that their dogs will be in a comfortable environment until they find their forever home.”

Foster carers play a major role in helping dogs to prepare for a happy future in a new home and it is the perfect way for dog lovers to experience the joy of rehoming without the long-term commitment.

Foster carers also receive committed support to care for their four-footed friend, getting everything they need from food and bedding to veterinary care.
