Sustainable Kirriemuir is holding a repair cafe, swap shop and plant sale in the town next Saturday (May 28).

The event, in Kirriemuir Church Hall between 10am and 1pm, will be ideal for anyone who has clothing that needs repaired, from a button needing reattached to a burst seam or unravelling hem.

One of a team of skilled volunteers will have a go at mending the item or will let you know if it needs professional attention. The only stipulation is no zips. Stay to watch the process and learn something new or nip over to one of the other stations. Payment is by ‘pay what you feel’ donation.

Alternatively, good quality, clean items of clothing (maximum five per person) can be swapped. Spring and summer adult men’s and women’s clothing is being accepted. Have a look at the rails and take away new pieces of clothing for free to enjoy this spring and summer.

There will also be a variety of vegetable and pollinator-friendly plants for sale, including flowers, herbs, and salads. The cafe will serve tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juice, with home baking or biscuits. Donations of home baking will be accepted on the day.
