The newly formed congregation of Brechin and Farnell Parish Church welcomed its new minister when the Presbytery of Perth inducted the Rev Andries van Tonder recently.

Rev van Tonder is from South Africa and was Ordained as a Minister of the Dutch Reformed Church in 2016.

After serving in two churches he moved to Scotland in 2022. He spent a year in St Columba’s Parish Church in Glenrothes, where he took part in the Kirk’s programme of familiarisation for ministers of other denominations.

Last July he moved to work as the Assistant Minister with the Glenrothes Area Covenanted Partnership.

He has moved to Angus with his wife and two young sons and is very excited by the prospect of being the Church of Scotland Minister in the community.
