Taking place at the Platform venue in the heart of Glasgow city centre, it will be an event to remember, packed with entertainment, street food, a red carpet reception and, most importantly, the stories of remarkable young people.

Since its launch in 2006, the awards have been Scotland’s only national awards evening for its young people which recognise the outstanding achievements of 11 to 26-year-olds and the extraordinary work they do to improve their local communities and the lives of others.

And Angus 2022 winners include James Anderson, who won the volunteering award in recognition of his dedication and hard work for charity Enable Scotland. Forfar’s curling superstar Hailey Duff was part of the gold medal-winning Beijing Winter Olympics British Women’s curling team at the 2022 games.

Hailey, as part of Team Muirhead, scooped the gold for the first time since 2002.

Hailey said: “It was an honour to even be nominated, so to find out I’d won – especially in such a tough category where I was up against some truly inspirational young people that have achieved so much– was really special.”

Kirsten Urquhart, chief executive at Young Scot, said: “The Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards shines a light on the incredible achievements and inspirational stories of young people from across Scotland.

"If you know a young person who goes above and beyond for others or their local community, then please nominate them now.”
