Local lego enthusiasts are being challenged to produce their own version of one of Brechin’s most iconic buildings for a display in the town later this year.

Brechin 2020 will hold its final Lego event in the Brechin Cathedral Hall on Sunday, May 15 at 2pm.

Its purpose is to allow the community to ’Build your own cathedral’ with a specific number of bricks.

The intention is to put these on display in the Town House Museum during the Angus Alive exhibition marking 800 years of worship in Brechin.

A spokesperson said: “ The community can bring their own bricks to build their model. We also have a good stock of Lego bricks which can be used.

“ However, we would be delighted to receive any donation of loose Lego bricks for use on the days. We will ensure that all the bricks at the end are passed on to a charity.

“If you can donate any bricks, reply to this post and we can make arrangements to receive them.

“ On Sunday 15 May, the Lego Brickies will be putting the final touches to the 10,000 Lego model of the Cathedral and will be available for viewing.

“When finished, the model will be on display in the Town House Museum from June 4 to Oc tober 29 for public viewing.
