An Arbroath man enjoyed a surprise reunion at a recent meeting in the town of the Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club.

Alan Kroesen has been a motorcycle enthusiast for years and had bought his Triumph Bonneville T120 V 650cc brand new in 1972 from Gordon Thom Motorcycles in Montrose.

After years of enjoyment it was beginning to show its age, and was mothballed. During the early days of Covid, his family told Alan they had sold his bike for spare parts, and as Alan himself was getting older they bought him an three-wheeled mobility scooter.

Alan took it along to the gathering to meet up will old friends and reminisce about bikes but, unbeknown to him, his son Marc and daughter Alana had actually had his Bonneville fully restored. Colin Craig, of Loch Ness Restorations in Inverness, took the bike along to reunite it with its overjoyed owner.
