Aurora and Macy ideal pets for right homes

This week the Scottish SPCA is looking for permanent new homes for two special pets currently residing at its Angus rehoming centre.

Macy is a beautiful rabbit who is looking for a new family.

She prefers to have all four feet on the ground, however she is happy to accept nose rubs in return for a tasty bit of veg.

The society is looking for a home that can continue to encourage her to eat lots of hay to keep her teeth in check.

Aurora the Malamute cross, has lots of energy and she would prefer an active home.Aurora the Malamute cross, has lots of energy and she would prefer an active home.

Macy will require a large area to live in with the recommended size of enclosure, either indoors or outdoors, that allows her plenty of space to run around and explore.

She should have plenty of enrichment to keep her entertained throughout the day to help display her natural behaviours.

She could live with children, however as rabbits can be easily scared or stressed, staff at the centre feel she would be best suited to a home with children who are used to being around rabbits and know when to give her space.

If you can give Macy her new home, please apply via the Scottish SPCA website: https://www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/12951-macy

Aurora is a lovely Alaskan Malamute cross, a very gentle and loving girl who enjoys nothing more than cuddles.

True to her breed, Aurora has lots of energy and she would prefer an active home where she can enjoy the great outdoors with her owner.

Aurora loves the sound of her own voice and can sometimes be quite noisy when left alone therefore any potential new owner will need to keep this in mind.

She also does not seem to be toilet trained and will need the time and patience to help her overcome this in her new home.

Aurora has made some friends here at the centre and staff feel she could potentially go to a home with a canine companion pending a successful introduction.

She would prefer a home with older children or adults only.
