Arbroath optician provides charity collection point
Specsavers Arbroath has partnered with Home-Start Angus to offer the community a donation point to drop off Christmas gifts and food items.
Home-Start Angus is a charitable organisation offering emotional and practical support to young families with children under the age of five, experiencing illness, disability, poverty and loneliness across Angus.

Hide AdThe charity is looking for toys as well as essential store food items which will be distributed to young children ahead of Christmas to help ease the financial burden that many families face at this time of year.
A donation box is in place within the store at 18 Abbeygate Centre with Specsavers colleagues and customers already donating non-perishable items and special Christmas treats for families in need.
Marie Fleming, store manager of Specsavers Arbroath, said that the company is only too happy to provide support for the county-wide charity which will be working hard to provide support across the area over the festive period
She said: “Home-Start Angus is a vital service within our community which many families rely on.

Hide Ad“It is heart-breaking to think there are children and families in the area who may not get a Christmas gift this year or struggle to put food on the table, therefore we are proud to have partnered with the charity to give our customers a drop-off point which is easily accessible and will help to make a difference to the people the charity supports.
“We will be making regular deliveries to Home-Start so we welcome any customers or locals who would like to pop in and drop off any donations.”
The charity is currently accepting non-perishable food such as tinned meat, pasta, rice, curryand pasta sauce, tinned fruit, instant snack meals, cereal and toiletries as well as toys for children.
