Angus Council offices to close for bank holiday

Angus Council services will be affected on Monday by the extra Bank Holiday to mark the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

The local authority has confirmed that, as a mark of respect, council offices and buildings will be closed on September 19, the day of the late Queen’s state funeral.

This will include schools and early learning and childcare facilities.

Some services, however, will be maintained during the course of the day.

An Angus Council spokesperson said: “Monday has been declared a Bank Holiday to mark the last day of the period of National Mourning.

“Critical frontline services will continue to be provided, including social work and care services to ensure the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable members of the community.

“Household bin collections will not go ahead as scheduled and we will advise of alternative arrangements as soon as possible.

"Public toilets, and recycling centres that normally open on a Monday, will also be closed.

Full services will resume on Tuesday, September 20.
