Kirriemuir mail office goes under the hammer
A first-class investment opportunity will go under the hammer later this month with the auction of a prominent property in an Angus town.
Auction House Scotland is preparing to stamp its mark on the market this November, as four former Royal Mail delivery offices are posted for public auction on Thursday, November 27.
One of the four offices up for auction is the delivery office in Kirriemuir.
The others are in Anstruther, Bearsden and Biggar.

The auction company says these buildings are ready to deliver fresh opportunities to investors, developers and landlords across Scotland.
Much like the letters that once passed through their doors, each property is ready to be re-routed, offering a variety of development and repurposing options – subject to the necessary planning stamps of approval.
Mandi Cooper, managing director of Auction House Scotland, said: “It’s not every day we address a portfolio like this!
“These former delivery offices all have the potential to be redeveloped and to continue to serve their communities for years to come.
"We’re expecting a first-class response from bidders so potential buyers need to act quickly.”
The Kirriemuir Delivery Office is based at 9-11 Reform Street in the town.
It’s described as “a unique chance to sort a future development opportunity in the historic town of Kirriemuir”.
The premises have floor space of approximately 249 square metres over the ground and first floors.
Auction Scotland says it is suitable for a range of uses/development (subject to consents), and there would be a leaseback to Royal Mail on peppercorn terms for up to nine months, allowing time to vacate.
Completion of a deal would be requirewd within 28 days or by December 19, whichever is earlier.
Mandi added: “A competitive guide price means interest is expected to be delivered promptly – early enquiries are essential.”
