Sew Confident Dundee’s Sandra Cassidy Persuades People to Swap Shopping for Sewing

Sew Confident Dundee Franchisee Sandra Cassidy is convincing people to stop shopping and start sewing to create their summer wardrobes this year.

After successfully taking part, along with several of her customers, in ‘me made may’, a challenge designed to encourage people who make their own clothes to develop a better relationship with their handmade wardrobe, Sandra Cassidy of Sew Confident Dundee wants to continue the momentum on her mission to persuade people to swap spending for sewing.

Sandra and her team of seven staff have a clientele of over 1000 customers from Angus, Tayside and Fife attending classes in person and online. This Summer, Sandra and team are putting on classes and sew-a-longs teaching people to create their own summer clothes. Sandra said: “There’s nothing more satisfying than wearing something that you have created yourself. In today’s consumerist society, if someone wants something, they go ahead and buy it for themselves, but making your own clothes gives your wardrobe a more special meaning whilst being kinder to the planet.”
