Scouting for Christmas cards to help raise funds

Sealed cards and a 30p donation should be placed within another sealed envelope and posted in one of the Scouts’ boxes. These will be collected regularly before being sorted in a well-organised system and then delivered by parents and adult volunteers.

The post boxes will be in place until next Thursday, December 15, with the cards delivered on the weekend of December 17 and 18.

In addition the Arbroath Scouts are partnering with Carnoustie scouts to allow cards for Carnoustie to be in Arbroath, and visa versa. Anybody not sending cards can still make a donation by posting cash within an envelope marked DONATION.

Post boxes can be found at: Arbroath Library; Morrisons; Tesco; AFC Shop; Abbeygate; Co-op, Mayfield; Nisa, Timmergreens; McCalls, Kirkton; Brown’s Pet Store; Marlyn’s Hairdresser; Cafe Barista, High St; Keptie Newsagents; Shop & Save, Brechin Road; Wardykes School; Andy Stewart Court; Ashbrook Nursery; Scout Hall, Keptie Rd.

The funds raised by the delivery service will go to support the activities in the Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer groups in Arbroath and district, as well as to local charities.
