In partnership with SSE Renewables, and as part of the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm Project, the community council handed over micro grants cheques of up to £500 to Carnoustie Community Choir, Carnoustie Panmure Youth Football Club 2008 Team, Arbroath and Carnoustie Instrumental Band, Food is Free Carnoustie Community Garden, Carnoustie and District Friends of Guiding, Carnoustie Memories, Carnoustie Ladies’ Golf Club, Kinloch Centre Comfort Fund.

The donations come from a £1.8million community fund set up by SSE Renewables and partner TotalEnergy at the start of construction on the £3bn project to support communities affected by the process, including those in the Carnoustie, Arbroath, Montrose, Ferryden & Craig, Tealing and Murroes & Wellbank community council areas.

Each area is benefiting from £250,000 to help improve their areas and to fund locally-supported projects.

In addition, they also receive a sum of money annually to provide small micro grants to local groups’ activities.
