Hannah is now a year into her journey of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, having been diagnosed with the rare muscle disorder at just 15 weeks old.It has proved a tough winter for the youngster with many overnight stays at Ninewells Hospital fighting off respiratory infections.

SMA is a genetically inherited condition that is caused by a faulty gene, and affects the muscles in the body.

Ashley said: “Now we are getting into the better weather and Hannah continues to grow, we are hoping to have less admissions into Ninewells Hospital.

"We want to thank the Masons at Lodge 40 and the Provincial Grand Lodge of Forfarshire for their very kind donations.

"We have recently put donated money towards purchasing a supportive specialised chair for Hannah to use at nursery and continue to be overwhelmed with the community support we receive.

"Without our local community it would be difficult to provide Hannah with these extra opportunities.”

Ashley received the cheque from Bob Cheyne, Depute Provincial Grand Master Forfarshire.
