The work carried out in these demanding roles can have a real impact on their bodies and The Body Mechanic Clinic owner, Lisa Saunders explained some of the damage and injuries she has seen and how her therapies can help the healing process.
She said: “This service comes at a physical cost, occasionally life-changing, but more often than not just enough to hamper enjoyment of everyday life. We’ve all seen footage and images of our troops operating in searing heat wearing body armour and helmets, laden down with packs and weapons. The resulting damage, particularly to the lower half of the body, is not surprising. “
She added: “The same issues are seen in our blue-light front-line services. Whether it is police officers from prolonged periods of time on their feet, paramedics from lifting and transporting an increasingly heavy population, or firefighters moving though confined spaces in heavy life-saving gear.”
Lisa was keen to offer a small thank you for the hard work these vital professionals have given us all.
“In recognition of the men and women who serve their country and communities in uniform, we would like to offer any serving or retired servicemen or women and any blue light operators the chance of a treatment at 75% of the usual cost.”
Since opening her new clinic in Kirriemuir, Lisa and her team have been treating people from all walks of life and professions and was keen to offer her expertise to service men and women who may not have tried them before.
“During this time of remembrance, we should all, as a society, honour these people and give thanks that there are those who have laid down their lives – and are still willing to do so - whilst in selfless service to their country, be that in the military or the emergency services. If my business can make a small contribution to their well-being, I’ll be happy.”
