Starting in the village, Darren Davies, 11, cycled from there to the Carnoustie Golf Hotel and back again, a round trip of approximately 24 miles.

A pupil at Arbroath High School, Darren has ADHD and suffers from anxiety, especially during the Covid pandemic. He also lost a family friend to suicide, so, after discussing the matter with his parents he decided to undertake the bike run to raise funds for mental health charity ‘Reach Across’.

At various stages along the way he was accompanied by his grandfathers Steve and Chris who also got on their bikes.
