Cycling club pays tribute to prominent member

Angus Cycling Club (ACC) paid tribute recently to one of its most prominent members by presenting a remembrance book to his family.

Finlay Taylor was one of the club’s oldest members and passed away earlier this year at the age of 90.

He was, along with two others, part of a of a Scottish record-holding team which, in 1952, twice broke the Scottish National 100 mile record. In addition to being a keen cyclist, he was also a competent cross country skier and a teacher.

Members of the ACC compiled the book of remembrance, containing reminiscences and tributes by his clubmates and friends, to mark his long association with them and the cycle club, which included most of his life. Members gathered and CS Cycles in Forfar where it was presented to his daughter Christine McGrath and son Clive by close friend Joe Miller.
