It was a £500 winner takes all event and Hillside had asked beforehand to add an extra singles so 10 points where up for grabs.
The match was played in perfect conditions and as games ebbed and flowed it game down to the last game on the green and with the score four apiece it was Hillside who won the last game 15 -14 and with it the match 6-4.
After the presentation and knowing that Arbroath BC is fundraising for a defibrillator, Hillside made the tremendous gesture of donating a defibrillator to the club.
