It was a welcome return for the annual after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.

Assembling at Motech on Victoria Street on Sunday morning, the cars were waved off every 30 seconds from 10am by president Tim Hale.

The lunch stop was the Grampian Transport Museum at Alford where the cars were arrayed round the oval track making an excellent view in the sunshine.

After lunch the tour route then made the return trip via the scenic Cairn o’ Mount culminating with the drive down to the impressive end point at Glamis Castle.

Mr Hale said “This year’s event has put us back on track after the disappointments of the Covid pandemic preventing the tour taking place. We are relived that there was still a lot of enthusiasm for the event as the entry forms rolled in."

He also thanked the event’s main sponsors, the Fisken Motor Group and Guild Homes.

He added: “Forfar Rotary are pleased to announce £8.5K was raised on the day, but when gift aid is realised it could reach £9.5K.”
